| In addition to the use
of CAD, Building Information Modeling (BIM)
software is used in order to more fully meet our clients' needs and
exceed their expectations. A few facts about BIM: * BIM entails the three dimensional modeling of the building and either all or some of the component systems within it. * Sizes and locations of components are precisely modeled and shared with all design team members. * Integration of modeled systems allows for issues to be identified and resolved digitally before they become cost increases in the field. * The Owner receives long-term benefits for life-cycle costs of the building. * The National Institute of Standards and Technology conducted a study in 2004 which quantified that buildings designed using BIM had a 23 cents/square foot life cycle cost savings over buildings not using BIM. * The Owner is able to view the project in three dimensions for clear visualization of the exterior and interior spaces, as well as to create walkthroughs which approximate actual positioning and movement through the completed building.
