About This Project

This project consisted of the construction of a 3,500 SF wood framed nature center viewing area. Although not commissioned, this facility qualifies for a LEED Certification Silver Award due in part to the use of the following building materials and systems:

  • Recycled content up to 25%

  • Domestically produced/shipped goods

  • Sustainable products

  • Geothermal heating/cooling

  • Daylighting sensors

  • Additional features included:

  • Large stone wood burning fireplace

  • Interior/exterior viewing area

  • Large instructional classroom

  • Library area

  • ADA restrooms

  • Kitchenette

  • Interactive displays
