Fire Station No. 321

Liberty Township, Ohio

This approximately 900 square feet addition and partial building renovation allowed for functional reconfiguration of the firefighters’ living spaces in this combination Firehouse and Township Hall building. The enlarged footprint created both dayroom space distinct from the dining room and a protected porch providing recreational space as well as covered egress. The second floor dormitory expanded from seven bunks in a single shared space to ten bunks in semi-private spaces. The materials and detailing of the existing building were carried into the language of the addition, forming a cohesive whole.
