Athens High School
Athens City School District
About This Project
We are currently working with Athens City Schools and the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission on the design and construction of a new high school, located at the existing high school site on High School Road in The Plains, Ohio. This new facility will encompass approximately 154,000 square feet, with a capacity to house 675 students.
The project budget totals $64 million, with specific allowances for an Emergency Responder Radio Coverage System and site development costs. Construction will proceed with a Construction Manager at Risk delivery method, starting with an early site package in May 2025. The design will meet LEED V4 Silver Certification standards, ensuring sustainability and energy efficiency.
Once the new high school is operational, the existing building will be demolished and abated, with demolition work commencing about four weeks after occupancy. This scope includes completing remaining site work after the demolition of the old facility, with an abatement/demolition budget of $1.2 million.
